How to play
Fourth & Know
Fourth & Know is the daily NFL game on Stumped. It plays like a trivia board laid over a football drive. You answer clues off a board, and your field position is your score: right answers march the ball toward the end zone, wrong ones push it back. Clear the board and see how far you drove. A new board posts every morning.
The board
A board has two rounds. Each round is a set of categories, and each category holds four clues worth 5, 10, 15 and 20. The value is the row: the 5 is the gentlest clue in a category and the 20 is the hardest. You choose any clue that is still open, read it, and type your answer. You have 30 seconds a clue, and a timeout counts as a wrong answer.
Gaining and losing yards
A right answer gains its value in yards toward the end zone. A wrong answer gives those same yards back. So a 20 is worth chasing, but a miss on it stings. Reach the end zone and you score 120, the field you crossed plus a scoring bonus, then start a fresh drive from your own goal.
The two swings
- Double Coverage. In round one, one hidden clue is a bet. When you turn it over you can stake up to the yards left between you and the end zone, then answer for it.
- The Two-Minute Drill. Round two is a fresh board where every clue above the 5 line is a bet, up to its own value. The stakes are higher on purpose, so a strong second round can rescue a slow first one.
An example
Say the category is "Rookies With 5 Rushing And 5 Receiving TDs" and you take the 5 clue: "The Boise State star taken sixth overall by Las Vegas in 2025 joined the club as a rookie." The answer is Ashton Jeanty. Get it and the ball moves five yards downfield; miss it and you slide five yards back. Then you pick your next clue and keep driving.
