STUMPED.

How to play

Pace

Pace is a daily WNBA game about production. It is a higher-or-lower streak: you are shown two players and a stat, and you call whether the second player is projected to finish ahead of the first. Get it right and you keep going. One wrong call ends the run. The aim is the longest streak you can string together.

How a call works

Each round has an anchor player and a challenger, with each one's projected season total for the chosen stat. You decide whether the challenger's number is higher or lower than the anchor's. The matchups are paired to be close calls rather than blowouts, so it is a real read on who is having the bigger year, not a gimme.

Building a streak

An example

Say the stat is points and your anchor is A'ja Wilson. The challenger is Breanna Stewart, and the board shows each player's projected points for the season. If Wilson's projection is the higher of the two, then the right call for Stewart is Lower. Nail it and Stewart becomes your new anchor against the next player who steps up.

A note on the numbers

Every total in Pace is our projection model, not an official stat. It is our best estimate of where a player is trending across the season, rebuilt as games are played. You can read more about how we build and check those numbers on our How We Check page.
